Magma Math Visit
20 Jan 2026Our school was buzzing with excitement as we welcomed representatives from Magma Maths for a special visit. From the moment the session began, our children rose to the challenge — confidently tackling problems, sharing their ideas, and articulating their thinking with clarity and enthusiasm. Our children were fantastic, confidently sharing their ideas and talking about how they solved problems as they explored maths using Magma Maths. It was a powerful demonstration of not only strong mathematical understanding, but also the excellent communication and oracy skills we nurture across our school.

Big Bang Days Spark Excitement Across Early Years and Key Stage 1
06 Jan 2026This week, children across Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed a series of exciting Big Bang Days, launching their new topics with creativity, curiosity and plenty of enthusiasm. Reception pupils began their new topic, “What is a Shadow?”, with a fantastic day of exploration focused on night and day. The children shared their new core text, Owl Babies, and arrived at school dressed as nocturnal and diurnal animals, creating a wonderful buzz throughout the classrooms. It was a joyful and engaging introduction to their learning. Year 1 pupils arrived to a surprise when The Naughty Bus struck overnight, leaving chaos across the classroom and even around the school.

Inspiring Digital Learning in Action: Visit from Sync
16 Dec 2025We were delighted to welcome Charlie from Sync to our school this week. The visit was a fantastic opportunity to share how our Universal Design for Learning (UDL) approach, alongside the effective use of digital tools, supports accessible and inclusive learning for every child. Throughout the visit, Charlie saw first-hand how our teachers, support staff and pupils collaborate confidently using technology to deepen understanding, enhance creativity and empower learners. It was inspiring to see digital tools being used meaningfully across the school to support engagement, communication and independence.

Pupil Champions Elected to Lead Positive Change Across Our School
05 Dec 2025We are delighted to announce the results of our recent pupil elections, which have seen the appointment of our new Eco Champions, Digital Champions, and Sports Champions. These enthusiastic pupils will work closely with staff leaders to help shape key areas of school life and make a positive difference for everyone. Our Eco Champions, led by Mrs Webber, are ready to take action to make our school greener, cleaner, and more sustainable. From promoting recycling to encouraging energy-saving initiatives, they will play an important role in helping our school care for the environment.

Breakfast with Santa 2025
29 Nov 2025Today, a sprinkle of Christmas magic drifted over our school as our dedicated PTFA volunteers joined forces with Santa to create a truly enchanting morning for children and their families. From mixing up sparkly reindeer food to enjoying a festive breakfast together, the excitement built throughout the event. The highlight for many was the moment the children stepped into Santa’s glittering grotto for a special visit with the man himself. Along the way, we heard plenty of delighted whispers from our pupils—“ This is my best day!”, “I love him!”, “This is so fun!”, “I can’t wait!

Specialist Resource Provision Opens at Lime Wood
28 Nov 2025A new chapter for Inclusion at Lime Wood Primary School This half term marked an exciting development for Lime Wood Primary School: the opening of our new Specialist Resource Provision (SRP)- Tiny Seed Class. The SRP provides places for 12–15 children with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) where the primary need is Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and/or speech, language and communication needs (SLCN). It is designed to offer specialist support within a mainstream school environment, helping children achieve academically, socially, and emotionally. At Lime Wood Primary, our vision is: “To deliver a curriculum that is provided by good teachers underpinned by an effective blueprint for excellence in culture, behaviour, attainment and wellbeing – to find the champion in everyone.” Our SRP reflects this vision by providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where children with ASD and SLCN can grow in confidence and thrive.

Ready Steady read-Sponsored Read and Book Fair Raise Over £900 for New School Books
28 Nov 2025We are delighted to share the fantastic results of our recent reading initiatives. A heartfelt thank-you goes to all the children who took part in our Sponsored Read. Through your commitment and love of reading, you collectively raised an impressive £490—a brilliant achievement! When combined with the proceeds from our Book Fair, free books, and matched funding, our school community has raised a remarkable £909.86 to purchase new books for our pupils.

From the very first day, they embraced the spirit of kindness with enthusiasm, creativity, and genuine care for others. What followed was a week filled with thoughtful actions, bright smiles, and countless moments that reflected the values we aim to nurture in every child. Throughout the week, pupils found opportunities—big and small—to make a positive difference.

Lime Wood School Achieves Bexley Oracy Bronze Award
31 Oct 2025We are delighted to share that Lime Wood School has been awarded the Bexley Oracy Bronze Award, recognising our strong and sustained commitment to developing confident, articulate communicators. During their visit, the London Borough of Bexley team commended the progress we have made in embedding Oracy across the school. This includes regular professional learning for staff and effective classroom strategies such as “Say It Again Better” and the use of sentence stems, which support pupils in expressing themselves clearly across all subjects. The team also highlighted our creative initiatives, including Talking Tables and our Talking Café partnership with Age UK Bexley.

Celebrating World Mental Health Day- Hello Yellow
13 Oct 2025Hello Yellow – World Mental Health Day at Lime Wood Primary On Friday 10th October 2025, Lime Wood Primary School proudly took part in #HelloYellow, joining schools across the country to recognise World Mental Health Day and raise awareness about the importance of young people’s mental wellbeing. Pupils and staff dressed in yellow to show their support, helping to spread positivity and start conversations about mental health across the school. The bright colours certainly lit up our classrooms, and the day was filled with warmth, kindness, and a real sense of community spirit. Thanks to the generosity of our families, we are thrilled to share that we raised an incredible £170.65!
